Practice Ready Assessment is not Royal College PER. Australia has several IMG routes — pick one, do not duplicate them.
MCC / physiciansapply is the national credentials layer. It is not a licence.
Practice Ready Assessment (PRA), including NAC PRA, is a workplace-based assessment of readiness to practise, run through a provincial program. It is not the Royal College Practice Eligibility Route.
Royal College PER is specialist certification. Certification is not a licence.
The provincial or territorial medical regulatory authority grants the licence. You still pick a province.
One evidence record. Four Canadian processes. Do not merge them.
Specialist Recognition: college comparability, then Ahpra specialist registration.
Expedited Specialist pathway: Medical Board listed specialties. Not college comparability.
Area of Need: tied to an identified post. Not the same as Specialist Recognition.
AMC Standard Pathway: AMC assessment (MCQ and clinical exam or workplace-based assessment) toward general registration.
Competent Authority Pathway: only if you are on the Board’s current list. GMC registration is not automatic eligibility.
Short-term training: time-limited. Not by itself a pathway to specialist registration.
Workplace-based assessment on the Standard Pathway is an option inside that pathway, not a second Elaryvo route.
It does not apply to MCC, a provincial PRA program, the Royal College, AMC or Ahpra.
It does not predict comparability, PRA success or registration.
